Project Description:
This project was to create a series of three, professional quality, print ad posters that could be used in a Public Service Announcement (PSA) print campaign. These posters promote awareness for eating disorders which is an important issue or topic that affects individuals and communities. The National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA)—in conjunction with The Ad Council—sponsors this three-piece print campaign with the intent to influence the audience to be aware and understand more deeply the severity of eating disorders, and that there are organizations out there who want to help. The campaign is titled "Dying to be Thin" because there are an increasing amount of hospitalizations per year due to eating disorders, and many might not even recognize that their relationship with food is killing them.

3-piece Ad Campaign Photoshop Mock Up
Design Description:
This piece uses the creative strategy of material change, swap, or focus and also isolation with the contrast between yellow and black. The alignment balances each of the advertisements out, but also suits the individual compositions. The proximity of the image in the center brings focus and also separates the headline from the logo and tagline with the call to action. The text is also used to emphasize the word thin by making the bottom row a different thinner condensed font. Repetition is used in color and in alignment for the information.

About the Ad Council:
The Ad Council is an American nonprofit organization that produces, distributes, and promotes public service announcements on behalf of various sponsors, including nonprofit organizations, non-governmental organizations, and agencies of the US government.
The Ad Council partners with advertising agencies that work pro bono to create public service advertisements on behalf of campaigns. The organization accepts requests from sponsor institutions for advertising campaigns that focus on particular social issues. To qualify, an issue must be non-partisan (though not necessarily unbiased) and have national relevance.
